BRIO MINDSET

A free spirit, Brio Mindset steps into the dance with the confidence of someone who follows only her own path. On stage, she masterfully explores the many faces of femininity, driven by the profound belief that every movement can become an affirmation of freedom.

BRIO MINDSET

“When I am on stage, I embody a free and powerful woman who chooses how she presents herself to the world.”

What is your story with dance?

Becoming a dancer has been my dream since childhood. I began dancing at the age of five. At nine, following my teacher’s advice, I joined the Saint-Brieuc Conservatory in Brittany, where I studied ballet, modern jazz, and contemporary dance.

In my family, however, academic studies were the norm, so I completed six years of law school. During that period, something brought me back to the stage every year: a music video, a project with a choreographer… yet dance always finds its way back into my life.

At twenty-three, as I was beginning my career as a lawyer at an auction house, a conversation with a dance teacher triggered something in me. I decided to listen to my inner voice and leave everything behind to join a multidisciplinary dance school, where we explored styles such as hip-hop, commercial dance, and dancehall.

I soon began working in a wide variety of worlds. I performed on television sets, took part in the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, toured international events for luxury houses, danced in a contemporary opera, and performed for Disney.

Then I came across the Crazy Horse Paris audition. I had never performed in cabaret and had not even seen the Paris show Totally Crazy, but I already had a very powerful image of this place. I rolled the dice of my destiny again, and the doors opened before me.

What is the story behind your stage name?

Brio naturally brings to mind the expression “to do something brilliantly,” which reflects my two academic paths. But to me, Brio also evokes my Breton roots. I was born in Saint-Brieuc, and its inhabitants are called Briochins and Briochines. I find that connection beautiful.

I also like the fact that the word ends in “o,” which gives it a slightly androgynous quality. Mindset refers to the mind. I am a somewhat intellectual person, so it suits me well. It suggests a free and exploratory spirit, ready to forge its own path.

What kind of woman are you when you are on the Crazy Horse Paris stage?

The stage brings out my naturally extroverted side, while also revealing something I tend to hide in everyday life: my sensitivity. On stage, I allow my emotions to speak.

What do you want to convey to the audience when you dance on the Crazy Horse Paris stage?

The idea of commitment is very important to me. Today, I believe a Crazy Horse Paris dancer can convey a very powerful message.

When I am on stage, I embody a free and powerful woman who chooses how she presents herself to the world. At a time when women’s fundamental rights are being questioned in many countries, that takes on even greater meaning. Being on this stage every night is also a way of affirming women’s freedom.

In your opinion, what has created the magic of Crazy Horse Paris for the past seventy-five years?

To me, it is the constant pursuit of excellence. At Crazy Horse Paris, both the artistic and technical teams are always striving to make the show more precise and more accomplished.

There is also the venue itself, which feels like a red velvet boudoir, and of course the famous lighting effects, which create a unique world and an extremely strong identity.

Do you have a personal ritual before going on stage?

Yes, I have two. I do abdominal exercises, and I apply peppermint essential oil to the back of my hand. Its fresh scent gives me a real boost.

Why were you assigned the central role in Vestal’s Desire?

I think it is connected to the energy I project. In Vestal’s Desire, there is a kind of passive power, if I may call it that.

The feet remain still, and everything depends on the undulating movement of the hips, which gradually creates a hypnotic effect. There is a simplicity in the choreography that allows the dancer’s inner energy to be expressed with great intensity.

What makes you particularly proud as a Crazy Horse Paris dancer?

Professionally, I am proud to be part of such a demanding show and to work alongside artists I admire enormously.

On a more personal level, I am proud to become part of the history of a legendary venue that is also deeply connected to its time through its feminist commitment.

Which three words would you use to describe femininity?

Wild. Powerful. Intelligent.

Which act in the show The Dubai Edition amazes you the most?

I particularly love Rougir de Désir for its highly graphic use of silhouettes. I find that there is a deeply moving sense of surrender in this act, and the almost weightless movements are sublime.

I am also fascinated by Lay Laser Lay, which, to me, represents wild femininity at its most extreme: untamable and powerful.
